One of the Sooner State’s two flagship universities, Oklahoma State University’s online business administration degree takes a broad approach to the discipline. Oklahoma State’s bachelor’s of science in business administration program includes mandatory concentrations in either general business or management, exposing students to subjects across the business field, including accounting, marketing, economics, and management information systems. The program emphasizes flexibility, and many students pursue multiple minors to add value to their degrees. Graduates of the program can pursue a variety of positions, ranging from personnel recruiter to quality control officer to hotel manager. The program’s curriculum consists of 120 credits. Most full-time students earn their business degree within four years. Oklahoma State delivers its online programs asynchronously through the Brightspace learning management system, and students never need to set foot on campus in Stillwater to earn their degree. Coursework may be available in the form of podcasts, video lectures, and downloadable material. Distance learners also gain access to several support services, including an IT helpdesk and online access to library services. Some students may need to complete proctored exams; distance learners can do this by utilizing the online testing service ProctorU. Upon graduation, many students enter the fields of law or medicine or strike out on their own as entrepreneurs. A competitive state university, Oklahoma State boasts fairly strict admissions requirements. All applicants to the program must have earned a minimum high school GPA of at least 3.0. Students must also submit their SAT or ACT scores.
