An excellent online business degree-completion program for students who have completed lower division courses in this major, Appalachian State University's bachelor of science in business administration online program encompasses 52 semester hours in coursework focused on marketing, management, and computer information systems. Students are required to transfer a minimum of 70 prior course credits toward the business administration degree online program for a total of 122 credit hours. The online degree includes a general management concentration. Appalachian provides its students with an online transfer equivalency search to assist with the process. Program entrants must also meet specific general education requirements and prerequisites. This year-round program may be completed in as few as two years for full-time students and in four and a half years with part-time status. Appalachian is authorized to offer its online degrees to students residing in all states, with the exception of residents of California, Florida, and Massachusetts. Students access courses through the Blackboard platform. Core courses explore business ethics, international management, and entrepreneurship, among other business topics. Students may enroll in the program during the fall or spring semester. Business students must maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA in all core coursework in order to earn their degree. The school provides in-state distance education students a generous discount on per-credit tuition rates and reduced tuition rates are available to all students during the summer term. Undergraduate admission requirements include official high-school and any college transcripts, as well as official SAT or ACT scores. Transfer students who have earned 30 or more transferable credits are exempt from high-school transcript and test score requirements.
