ased out of Gainesville, the University of Florida is one of the Sunshine State’s two flagship universities. UF has risen to national prominence over the past three decades, gaining admission into the prestigious Association of American Universities (AAU). In recent years, the school has leveraged its state school resources to expand its slate of online and distance education programs. As a result of that expansion, UF now offers two business administration degrees online: a bachelor’s of science in business administration and a bachelor’s of arts in business administration. While the BSBA program uses a broad approach to the discipline, including standard coursework in managerial accounting and management, the interdisciplinary BABA program allows students to pursue concentrations in anthropology, business and economic geography, educational studies, general business, geology, mass communication, sociology, and sport management. The BABA program also includes an internship requirement, while the BSBA program does not. Both programs deliver coursework asynchronously and do not include in-person requirements. Students in both programs can earn their degrees in two years. Graduates are prepared for similar careers, including positions as accountants, analysts, and human resources managers. Students in both programs must earn 120 credits to obtain their degrees. Both programs are degree-completion tracks, and individuals must have already earned at least 60 credits of college courses. Additionally, applicants to the BSBA program should have earned a GPA of at least 2.5 in a set of seven prerequisite courses, while applicants to the BABA program must have earned a GPA of 3.0 or higher in those same courses.
