The University of Alabama's unique online bachelor's in business administration focuses on developing crucial student technology and data analysis skills in addition to core business and management functions. Enrolled learners choose courses from management and marketing specializations, and a minor in computing technology and applications is also available. Students with an accredited online business administration degree can find careers in a wide range of fields, from advertising to hotel management to entrepreneurship. Part of the school's "Bama By Distance" program, Alabama's bachelor of science in commerce and business administration requires the completion of 120 credit hours in a combination of general education core and elective courses. Major business courses cover behavioral, operational, and management aspects of running a business. Notable topics include analysis of micro- and macro-level economic conditions and the fundamentals of management information systems. Students access assignments through Blackboard. Though learners may enroll during the fall, spring, or summer semester, courses are offered on a rotating basis and may not be available during a given semester. Alabama accepts applications for its online business administration degree program on a rolling basis, and all distance learners receive the same per-credit tuition rate. Applicants who have earned less than 24 college-level credits must provide proof of high-school or GED completion. Students who graduated more than four years ago are required to have earned a minimum GPA of 2.5, while more recent high-school graduates must demonstrate a minimum GPA of 3.0. Transfer students or those who have earned more than 24 hours of college credit must submit official transcripts for a formal degree audit. Students may also be able to earn prior credit for select completed exams, study abroad trips, military experiences, or internships.
