Thomas Edison State University's BSBA in general management is designed to introduce students to a broad survey of basic business concepts, rather than provide a focused study in one specialization area. Coursework in the 120-credit online business administration degree explores four primary concepts in business: accounting, finance, management, and marketing. The curriculum comprises general education, general management, and elective courses. Business students have plenty of choice when choosing from available courses in major academic areas, but all are encouraged to include a course in business ethics as part of their program of study. Depending on a student's area of career interest, a sampling of other in-demand leadership and management topics includes manpower planning and operations, international marketing, and business forecasting. All students enrolled in the school's BSBA program are also required to complete a strategic management capstone course. Learners access courses through the Moodle platform and a majority of full-time undergraduate students complete their degree within two years. Most applicants are transfer students, and Thomas Edison State's flexible transfer policy allows students to transfer up to 80 credits from accredited two-year colleges and up to 117 credits from accredited four-year institutions. Students can also earn credit based on past professional and military training, a portfolio assessment, or program-specific exams. Flexible payment options include the ability to pay one annual tuition sum or to pay per credit. Active duty military learners pay a standard discounted per-credit tuition rate. Program applicants will receive an admission decision three business days from the date of their application.
