Founded in 1971 to serve the Jewish population in New York City, the Touro College and University System has since established Touro University Worldwide as the school’s online division. Although this department was established recently in 2008, it offers a number of successful programs, including a bachelor’s of science in business administration and management program. This program features concentrations in accounting, homeland security EDM, criminal justice, entrepreneurship, human resources management, marketing, and project management. This wide range of offerings lets TUW’s students tailor their degrees to match their career goals more than a typical online bachelor’s business administration degree. To graduate, students must complete a total of 120 credits, no matter their concentration. TUW aims for maximum flexibility in its programs, utilizing asynchronous learning and allowing students to choose full-time or part-time paths of study. Part-time students in the program take up to seven years to earn their degree, while full-time students often finish in 3.5 years. All students complete 39 credits of core classes in standard business areas, such as finance, accounting, and management. Students also take a total of 12 credits in their chosen concentration and 24 credits of general business electives. Each student completes a three-credit capstone project at the end of the program. Courses last eight weeks. All applicants to TUW’s business administration and management program must have earned a high school GPA of at least 2.0. The school does not require applicants to submit SAT or GRE scores. Once accepted, all students pay the same tuition.
